Stainless Steel Muffler/Tailpipe Assembly

I purchased this muffler from Moss Motors a few weeks ago for my 2001 base-model MT Miata. It arrived two days later in perfect condition. Took about twenty minutes to install, with help from the "blue wrench" and a fresh exhaust gasket (not included with product).

Muffler fits well and sounds great! Definitely louder than stock with the top down. Not boomy or ricey, and hardly noticeable with the top up (a good thing on a long trip!). I've had a few other Miata drivers pull up beside me in traffic and compliment me on the sound. I had considered adding an aftermarket intake, but this set-up is as loud as these 46 year-old ears want to go! If I had to pick nits, I wouldn't mind if the rolled, double-wall tip were an inch smaller in diameter, but that's it. Overall, very satisfied with the product and the service from Moss.

Cobalt Cat-Back Exhaust System from Moss

This is complete Stainless Steel Cat-Back exhaust system, including mid-pipe

I installed this product about a week and a half ago to replace an old Ansa muffler. I was skeptical of this product because it is relatively inexpensive, and not as well known a name as Borla, Ansa etc.

First and foremost this is a GORGEOUS PRODUCT! All T-304 polished stainless steel. Even the flanges are SS. It is so pretty that it is a shame to see it dissapear completely behind the rear bumper skin. The large 4-Inch outlet pipe is attractive without being "over the top boy racer". All in a flawless mirror finish. Now to the sound. I would say this is somewhere between stock and Borla. I had the Borla Cat Back duals on a 97 NA and found it too be a bit loud and droany for long commutes. This Cobalt system is very mild at idle,....but definetly lets you and anyone around you know that this is a performance oriented exhaust system. The sound is very good, and sounds like a proper sports car, not a street racer. There is a bit of burble when down shifting too, that is just right. This system sounds right, and fits right too. Just be sure to remind Moss to include the bung-plug if your year car does not have an O2 sensor in the mid-pipe. Overall I am VERY pleased with this! product, and highly recommend it.

Stainless Steel Muffler by Cobalt

1.2 mm thick 304 stainless steel, 404 stainless used for inner core and and tubing, 4" exhaust tip. 5 Year Warranty

Let the mechanic install it and I could have done it easily... Wanted one that was louder than stock, but not TOO loud. Got exactly what I wanted, Sounds loud under overpasses in the car, but I let someone else drive it while I sat and listened. Just what I was looking for. The Stainless is easy to clean, if you can get to it!

Highly recommmend, if you just want slightly louder than stock. Been on a couple of months and tone has not changed. Just can get low enough to clean the beauty.
