While every attempt has been made to provide accurate and dependable information, mistakes are inevitable. Not all questions have a simple straightforward answer, and in some cases, such as selecting the right tire, the answer will obviously be an opinion. What works for some people may not be the right thing for you. Use this information at your own risk. and permission is granted to create links that reference this location as appropriate.

| Has anyone seen the new Mazda Miata? The dealerships around
| here say they will get a few in a couple of months and I was
| just wondering if anyone (particularly in the West coast) has
| seen one, and if so what do they think about it? By the way
| what is the price?
|
| Also while on the subject of Mazda, does anyone know anything about
| the new Mazda RX7 (89 1/2 model year). Is 3 rotor engin still a
| possibility? How about twin turbo chargers? Is the body going to change?
| (I hope so!)

What is the Miata Mailing List and how does it work?

Picture a Miata club meeting - one of the noisy ones. Then imagine that going on 24 hours a day with participants from all over the world. You're getting the idea.

By subscribing to the list, you will receive mail on subjects that range from technical to social, not all of which will pertain directly to Miatas. Just like a club meeting. The volume of email from the mailing list can be as high as 150 messages a day. By sending an email to a certain address, your message is passed on to all subscribers - currently about 1500.

The Miata Mailing list is administered by Keith Tanner. Access to the archives of past messages is available via a comprehensive searchable index.

How do I subscribe to the list?

How do I subscribe to the list?

You can subscribe here http://list.miata.net/mailman/listinfo/miata. At the time you subscribe, you can choose to receive a digest version or to get all of the messages as they are sent out.

How do I unsubscribe from the list?

Go to http://list.miata.net/mailman/listinfo/miata, and use the form at the bottom of the page. You will need the password that you chose when you subscribed. If you do not remember the password, please contact the list administrator at list_admin@miata.net.

Is there a digest version?

There are several modes of delivery. To use them,

send an e-mail message to: listserv@list.miata.net with
set miata mail <mode>
in the body of the message.

You need to be subscribed before this will work, or you can send the request at the same time you subscribe (see below). The modes are:

How do I post a message to the list?

Due to an increasing spam problem, only subscribers can post to the list. Sorry. To send mail to the list, send it to miata@list.miata.net.

If you wish to post to the list but don't want to receive all the messages, that's still possible.

Send an e-mail message to: listserv@list.miata.net with
subscribe miata <your name>
set miata mail postpone
in the body of the message. Yes, on two separate lines.

Why can't I unsubscribe?!?

To unsubscribe, you need to follow these instructions to the letter!

Send an e-mail message to: listserv@list.miata.net
with unsubscribe miata in the body of the message.

I tried that. I still can't unsubscribe!

First, make sure you are sending your request from the same account that is getting the mail. Also ensure that your MIME or styled text is turned off, or it will confuse the listserv. Then check your spelling.

Your ISP may have made some changes to their domain that are transparant to you. This will screw up the listserver since it will think you are someone else. There is really nothing that you can do about it from your end. You'll need to send a message to the list administrator at list_admin@miata.net and request that it be done manually.

Where is Miataville? How do I get there?

Miataville was a forum on CompuServe. Similar forums existed on AOand Prodigy Networks.
